Let's take a minute to talk about your medication.

This is Ciclopirox shampoo. It helps to treat a skin condition of the scalp called seborrheic dermatitis. It may have other uses, too.  

Ciclopirox shampoo is applied topically to the scalp. It is usually applied two times each week, with at least 3 days in between applications. First, wet your hair and apply the medicine. Next, gently massage the medicine into your hair and scalp. After 3 minutes, rinse off the medication completely. You should also read the 'Instructions for Use' for full information. Most people tolerate this medicine well. The most common side effect is skin irritation. This can include itching, burning, and redness. This is normal if it is mild and should go away. If these or other side effects become reasons you want to stop taking this medicine, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist.  

As with any medicine, rare but serious side effects could occur. You should read the Patient Information Sheet to know which symptoms to watch for and when to report changes. 

Women should check with their doctors before becoming pregnant and before breastfeeding.
