This is BAQSIMI. It treats blood sugar that is very low in people who have diabetes. Very low blood sugar can be considered an emergency. Symptoms of low blood sugar include can cause you to feel confused, unconsciousness, seizures. It can even cause death if it is not treated quickly.

BAQSIMI is a nasal powder. It is given as a single dose into one nostril. The dose does not need to be inhaled. BAQSIMI is usually used in people with severely low blood sugar where foods or drinks with sugar are not helping, they are not conscious or may be having a seizure. As soon as the dose is given, call 911 for help. If there is no response after 15 minutes, a second dose from a new device may be given as you wait for help to arrive.
 
Your health care team will teach you about BAQSIMI. You will learn how to open it and use it. Also, you must read the patient information. It is important to make sure your family and close friends know how to administer BAQSIMI. 

If you are unconscious, your family or friends should give the dose and roll you onto your side. This is in case you vomit. As soon as you are awake and can swallow, you should eat or drink a fast-acting sugar, like fruit juice. Then, eat a longer-acting sugar, like crackers and cheese.
For best results, make sure you, your family and your friends are familiar with BAQSIMI before an emergency happens. Also, tell your doctor anytime you think your blood sugar may have dropped too low.
