This is olmesartan and hydrochlorothiazide. It contains two medicines that help lower blood pressure.  This may reduce your risk of having a heart attack or stroke.  You should take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

Most people tolerate this medicine well. The most common side effects include nausea, dizziness, and symptoms of the common cold.  It can also cause lightheadedness, especially when you first start taking this medicine.  Make sure you drink plenty of fluids. This can help reduce these symptoms.  

As with any medicine, more serious side effects can occur.  These include allergic reactions, eye problems and kidney problems.  Your doctor will monitor your condition to help keep this medicine safe for you. If these or other side effects make you want to stop taking this medication, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Olmesartan and hydrochlorothiazide can interact with other medicines.  You should talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking any other medicines. You should avoid taking potassium supplements or salt substitutes without talking to your doctor.

This medicine can harm unborn babies.  Women taking this medicine should not become pregnant or breastfeed.

For best results, do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor says its ok. Also, follow your doctor's advice about diet, exercise and checking your own blood pressure.
