Dificid is often taken twice each day, usually every 12 hours. You should take it exactly as your doctor tells you to. You can take your doses with or without food. Most people tolerate this medicine well. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain. These effects are normal if they are mild and should go away. If they don't go away, or if these effects appear to be severe, then let your doctor know right away. If these or other side effects become reasons you want to stop taking this medicine, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist. As with any medicine, rare but more serious side effects can occur. With Dificid, these include changes in your skin, blood, stomach or intestines. You should read the Patient Information sheet to know which symptoms to watch for and when to report them. To help keep this medicine safe for you, your doctor will follow your condition closely. Dificid can interact with other medicines. You should check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking any other medicines. Women should check with their doctors before becoming pregnant and before breastfeeding.
