Your doctor or pharmacist can help make sure you have the right nebulizer for this medicine. You should store Cayston in the refrigerator until you begin using it. When you begin using the medicine, you should store vials at room temperature, away from light, for up to 28 days. After 28 days, any unused vials should be discarded. You should read the Instructions for Use, to learn more about using Cayston. Most patients tolerate this medicine well. Common side effects include a cough, wheezing, sore throat or chest discomfort. You may also have stomach pain, nausea, or a fever. These are normal if they are mild and should go away. If these or other side effects become reasons you want to stop taking this medication, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist. As with any medicine, rare but serious side effects can occur. With Cayston, these can include allergic reactions, and swelling or pain in your joints. You should read the Patient Information sheet to know which symptoms to watch for and when to report them. Some people may have trouble breathing right after using Cayston. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about how to help avoid this. Women should talk to their doctor before becoming pregnant or breastfeeding. For best results with Cayston, take it exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Also, let your doctor know if your condition does not improve, or if it gets worse instead of better.
