Let's take a minute to talk about your medication.

This is Epidiolex.  It is used to help treat certain seizure disorders.

It is important to take Epidiolex exactly as prescribed by your doctor.  You can take your dose with or without food but be sure to take it the same way each time. Measure your dose with the clean and dry dosing syringe that came with Epidiolex to make sure your dose is accurate.  Do not use a household spoon to measure the dose. Some side effects can occur.  These include a rash, feeling tired, diarrhea or fatigue.  Some patients can have problems with sleep or a decreased appetite.  You should avoid activities that require you to be alert, like driving until you know how this medication affects you. You should not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor says it's okay.

As with any medication, more serious side effects can occur.  These can include liver problems.  Also, this medicine could cause anxiety, irritability, and even thoughts of suicide.  You should pay close attention to your behavior, thoughts and feelings. Call your doctor if you notice any worrisome changes.  To help keep this medicine safe for you, your doctor will follow your condition closely and may order blood tests.

Epidiolex can interact with other medications. Let your doctor or pharmacist know about all the medicines you take even if they do not require a prescription.  

Women should talk to their doctors before becoming pregnant or breastfeeding.

This medicine is controlled by federal law. It can put you at risk for addiction, abuse, and misuse. It can be dangerous to others, so store it in a safe place.
