Let's take a minute to talk about your medication. This is Aimovig. It is used to help reduce or prevent migraine headaches. Aimovig is an injection given under the skin once a month. The injection is given in the abdomen, thigh or upper arm. You should read the Instructions for Use to make sure you are comfortable with giving yourself the injection. Your doctor will determine the best dose for you. Aimovig should be stored in the refrigerator in the original carton. After removing it from the refrigerator, it can be stored at room temperature for up to 7 days. If it is kept out longer than 7 days, it should be thrown away. Most people tolerate Aimovig well. The most common side effects are pain or swelling at the injection site and constipation. These are normal if they are mild and should go away. If these or other side effects make you want to stop taking this medicine, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist. As with any medicine, more serious side effects can occur. You should read the Patient Information Sheet for which symptoms to watch for and when to report them. Women should talk to their doctors before becoming pregnant or breast feeding. For best results with Aimovig, continue taking it exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
