This is Viekira XR. It helps treat certain types of Hepatitis C infections. Viekira XR is often taken with another medicine called "ribavirin". 

This medicine is often taken as three tablets once a day at the same time each day. You should take it exactly how your doctor tells you to. You must take each dose with a meal and swallow the tablets whole. Do not open the dose pack until your dose is due. Also, do not drink alcohol for at least 4 hours after a dose. It is very important to not miss doses. 

Most people tolerate this medicine well. Common side effects include nausea, itching, or sleep problems. These effects are normal if they are mild and should go away. If these or other side effects become reasons you want to stop taking this medicine, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist. You should not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor says it's okay. 

As with any medicine, rare but serious side effects could occur. With Viekira XR, this includes severe liver problems. It could also cause a flare up of hepatitis B if you already have it. You should read the medication guide to know which symptoms to watch for and when to report changes. To help keep this medicine safe for you, your doctor will follow your condition closely. 

Viekira XR can interact with other medicines. You should always check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking other medicines.

Viekira XR may be unsafe for unborn babies. Both MEN and women must talk to their doctors about which birth control methods to use and for how long.
