You should take the doses exactly how your doctor tells you to. It is important not to miss any doses. If you do, you should ask your pharmacist how to handle the missed dose. 

Most people tolerate this medicine well. Common side effects include nausea, itching, or sleep problems. These effects are normal if they are mild and should go away. If these or other side effects become reasons you want to stop taking this medicine, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist. You should not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor says it's okay. 

As with any medicine, rare but serious side effects could occur. With Viekira Pak, this includes severe liver problems. It could also cause a flare up of hepatitis B if you already have it. You should read the medication guide to know which symptoms to watch for and when to report changes. To help keep this medicine safe for you, your doctor will follow your condition closely.

Viekira Pak may be unsafe for unborn babies. Both MEN and women must talk to their doctors about which birth control methods to use and for how long.
