Let's take a minute to talk about your medication. This is Tamiflu. It helps treat the flu. It can also help prevent you from getting the flu. You should take Tamiflu exactly as your doctor tells you to. Some people prefer to take it with food. This may help reduce the risk of stomach upset. This medicine comes in a capsule. If you or your child have a hard time swallowing the capsule, you should read the Instructions for Use. They include directions on how to open the capsule and sprinkle the contents onto a spoonful of chocolate syrup. Most people tolerate Tamiflu well. Some side effects can occur like a headache or nausea. These effects are normal if they are mild and should go away. Vomiting could also occur. If so, you should tell your doctor if it continues.
