Let's take a minute to talk about your medication. This is Stribild. It helps keep HIV infection under control. Stribild contains four medications in each tablet. People with HIV have a better quality of life and are living longer than ever before. To do so, it is important to take HIV medications exactly as your doctor tells you to. Stribild is often taken one time each day, at the same time. You should take each dose with food. Most people tolerate Stribild well. Common side effects include stomach upset, diarrhea and nausea. These effects are normal if they are mild and should go away. If these or other side effects become reasons you want to stop taking this medicine, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist. As with any medication, rare but more serious side effects can occur. Tell your doctor right away if you notice any unusual changes to your body. You should read the 'Patient Information Guide' to know what to watch for. Also, Stribild can cause a flare up of hepatitis B if you already have it. To prevent this, you must not miss doses or stop taking it, unless your doctor says it is okay. Drug interactions can occur. You should check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking other medicines or herbal remedies. If you take antacids, you need to separate them at least 2 hours from your Stribild dose. While taking this medicine, you must still take precautions to prevent spreading HIV to others. Women should talk to their doctors before becoming pregnant or breastfeeding. For best results with Stribild, be sure to plan ahead for refills. Also, store it in the original bottle with the lid tightly sealed.
