Let's take a minute to talk about your medication.  This is senna with docusate. You may also hear it called by a brand name like 'Senokot-S'. This medicine is often used to relieve constipation that you might have once in a while. Senna is a laxative. Docusate is a stool softener. Together, they soften stools and make you have a bowel movement. You should take this medicine by mouth and then drink a full glass of water. You will generally have a bowel movement 6 to 12 hours after a dose. It is important to take this medicine as directed on the label, or as directed by your doctor. Most people tolerate this medicine well. Common side effects include stomach cramps or diarrhea. These effects are normal if they are mild and should go away after having the bowel movement. If these or other side effects worry you, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist. You should store this medicine in the original container and out of the reach of children. There are times that you should check with a doctor before using this medicine. Check first if you have stomach pain, nausea, vomiting or a change in bowel habits that lasts over 2 weeks. Likewise, there are times you should stop using this medicine and check with a doctor. These include if you have rectal bleeding; if you need it more than 1 week: or if you do not have a bowel movement. For best results with senna and docusate, follow your doctor's advice about eating fiber, drinking fluids and exercising to help you stay regular.
