This is Sandimmune solution. You may hear it called by the generic name 'cyclosporine'. 

Sandimmune reduces the action of your immune system. This can help prevent organ rejection or treat other conditions. 

You should take this medicine exactly as directed. Your doctor will order blood tests to confirm that your dose is effective and safe. 

It's important to take every dose the same way -- either always with food or always without food. Use the syringe to measure each dose. Put the dose into a glass of either milk or fruit juice. Stir it very well and drink it right away. Store the medicine at room temperature. Store the syringe in its cover, and never rinse or clean it. 

Common side effects include mild tremors, nausea or high blood pressure. Some patients notice acne, hair growth or thickening of gums. Tell your health care team if you notice side effects. 

Sandimmune lowers your ability to fight infections. Tell your doctor right away if you think you have an infection, or if you have a fever, chills, cough, muscle aches, or cuts or sores that are warm, red or painful. 

As with any medicine, more serious side effects can occur. With Sandimmune, these include kidney or liver problems. It also increases your risk of certain cancers, like lymphoma and skin cancer. Your doctor will follow you closely. Tell your doctor right away if you notice unusual changes to your body. You should wear sunscreen and limit time in the sun. 

Always check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking other medicines. Also, do not eat or drink anything that contains grapefruit. 

Sandimmune may not be safe for babies, so women should talk to their doctors before becoming pregnant or breastfeeding.
