Let's take a minute to talk about your medication. These are prednisolone acetate eye drops. They treat swelling, redness and pain in the eye. You should use them exactly as directed by your doctor, and only when they are prescribed. To use the eye drops, wash your hands and shake the bottle well. Then, make a small pocket in your lower eyelid by gently pulling down or pinching the skin. Lastly, hold the bottle above your eye and gently squeeze a drop into the pocket. If you use more than one drop per dose, wait 5 minutes between each drop. This medicine is tolerated well. You could have blurry vision, a feeling that something is in your eye, or a slight burning sensation. These are normal if they are mild, and should go away after a few moments. You should tell your doctor if they don't go away, or if you have unusual changes to your eye. Also, you should always call your doctor right away if your condition ever seems worse instead of better. If you are instructed to use this for 10 days or longer, your doctor will check your eyes often. It's important to keep the bottle tip free from germs. So, don't let the tip touch anything, and keep it tightly covered when not in use. For best results, ask your doctor or pharmacist for help if you have a hard time using your eye drops. Also, call your doctor if your eye condition doesn't get better after the first 2 days.
