Let's take a minute to talk about your medication. This is Moviprep. It is a laxative which cleanses your colon entirely. This is necessary before a procedure or test, like a colonoscopy. You will take Moviprep the night before your test, about one hour after dinner. Dinner should be clear soup or plain yogurt. Then, do not eat any solid food until after your test. You must drink plenty of clear liquids before, during and after your treatment. Clear liquids include broth, gelatin, apple juice, tea and coffee without creamer. You should not drink milk, alcohol or liquids that are red or purple. You should take Moviprep as directed by YOUR doctor. Each kit contains two doses. To make the first dose, empty one 'pouch A' and one 'pouch B' into the container. Then, add lukewarm water until it reaches the top line of the container. Mix it well until it dissolves. You will notice that the container has 4 marks. Every 15 minutes, you should drink the solution down to the next mark. It takes about an hour to finish the dose. You will begin having watery stools after about 1 hour. This might cause stomach discomfort. If it is severe, you can stop drinking MoviPrep for a short time. If it stays severe, let your doctor know. Your doctor will tell you if your second dose is due the same evening or in the morning. You will make the second dose the same way as the first, and you will drink the same way. Before you go to sleep, you must drink an additional 16 ounces of clear liquids. This will help keep you hydrated. If you are taking the second dose in the morning, make sure you start the dose at least 3 and one-half hours before the test. Also, after the dose, drink an additional 16 ounces of clear liquids. Just make sure you stop drinking liquids at least 2 hours before your test.
