But finish the full course, or the infection could return and be hard to treat. Fluconazole is usually well-tolerated, but there can be side effects. Some people may get an upset stomach, and taking it with food may help. Mild headaches or dizziness can happen, and you might notice a change in the way food tastes. If these or other side effects continue or become concerning, please talk to your doctor. In very rare cases, this medication could affect your liver. So, call your doctor right away if you notice itching, dark urine or light-colored bowel movements, or if your skin or eyes become yellow. Lastly, there can be a lot of drug interactions with fluconazole, so make sure your doctor and pharmacist know all of the medicines you are taking. For best results, don't skip doses and try to get plenty of rest.
