Let's take a minute to talk about your medication.

This is Farxiga. It can help patients with diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and heart
failure. It may have other uses, too. This medicine can also help to prevent or delay
future health problems, such as damage to your eyesight, nerves, and kidneys.

You should take Farxiga exactly as your doctor tells you to. You can take it with or without food.

Most patients tolerate Farxiga well, but some common side effects can occur. You could
have changes in urination, like needing to go during the night or more often than
normal. Urinary tract infections could also occur. Women should watch for vaginal yeast
infections, and men should watch for yeast infections of the penis. If these occur, you
should obtain treatment. If these or other side effects become reasons you want to stop
taking Farxiga, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

As with any medicine, rare but more serious side effects can occur with Farxiga. These
include kidney problems, weight loss, allergic reactions, and too much potassium or too
much acid in your blood. You can avoid dehydration by drinking plenty of fluids. You can
avoid low blood sugar levels by telling your doctor if you have a fever, infection, surgery,
trauma, or other stressors. It's important to read the Medication Guide for other
information. In general, you should call your doctor right away if you notice unusual
changes to your body. To help keep this medicine safe for you, your doctor will follow
you closely and order lab tests.

Remember to always check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking other medicines, herbal remedies and vitamins, even if they do not require a prescription.

For best results with Farxiga, you must also follow the diet and exercise program recommended by your doctor.
