Let's take a minute to talk about your medication. This is Eucrisa. It is an ointment that treats mild to moderate eczema. Eczema is a type of rash that is often red, itchy and patchy. It may have other uses, too. Eucrisa is often applied two times daily, usually in the morning and in the evening. You should use it exactly as directed by your doctor. You will apply a thin layer of the ointment to the affected area of skin. You should wash your hands with soap and water before and after each dose. If you are treating an area on your hand, take care to not wash the medicine off. This medicine should only be used on skin that is outside of the body, and never on the eyes, mouth or vaginal area. Most people tolerate this medicine well. The most common side effect is pain at the application site, such as a little burning or stinging. These are normal if they are mild and should go away. An allergic reaction could also occur. This could be serious and may include hives, itching, swelling or redness. Let your doctor know right away if these occur. If these or any other side effects become reasons you want to stop using Eucrisa, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist. Women should talk to their doctors before becoming pregnant or breastfeeding. You should store Eucrisa at room temperature and keep the lid tightly closed when not in use. For best results with Eucrisa, be sure to read the Patient Information sheet for more information.
