Let's take a minute to talk about your medication.

This is Entresto, and it helps treat heart failure. Entresto can help patients with heart failure live longer, and have fewer visits to the hospital.

You should take Entresto exactly as your doctor tells you to. It is often taken two times a day. Your doctor may change your dose during treatment.

A common side effect is low blood pressure. Blood pressure that is very low could make you dizzy, lightheaded or very tired. If these happen, tell your doctor right away. To reduce dizziness, you should stand up slowly. Also, you should wait until you know how it affects you before doing activities that require you to be alert, like driving. You may want to ask about checking your own blood pressure. Your doctor will watch for other side effects, like kidney problems or high levels of potassium in the blood. You may notice a dry cough. If these or other side effects become reasons you want to stop taking this medicine, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

As with any medicine, a rare but serious allergic reaction could happen. Get emergency medical help if you have trouble breathing or if you notice swelling, especially in your face or mouth.

You should always check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking ANY other medicines, even if they do not require a prescription. Also, ask before taking potassium supplements or using salt substitutes.

This medicine is not safe for unborn babies. Women should check with their doctors BEFORE becoming pregnant or breastfeeding.

For best results with Entresto, you should plan ahead for refills, and read the 'Patient Package Insert' for more information.
