These include being hungry, a little dizzy, or not being able to sleep. Also, it can increase blood sugar. If you have diabetes, you should ask your doctor what to expect.

Some side effects are common with longer treatment. These include changes to the hair, skin, and the shape of the face. Also, it can slow down growth, so doctors will track the growth of children. This medicine increases the risk of getting infections, so you should take care to avoid germs. Call your doctor right away if you have a fever or other signs of an infection.

As with any medicine, call your doctor right away if you have any unusual changes to your body. With dexamethasone, these include mood swings, weakness, fatigue, and swelling in your ankles. Others include stomach pain, stools that are black or bloody, and changes to your vision or weight. Other serious effects, even death, have happened after injections of this medicine into the spinal cord.
