Let's take a minute to talk about your medication. This cream contains two medicines to treat infections of the feet, groin or body that are caused by a fungus. Clotrimazole kills the fungus, and betamethasone treats the itching and redness. You should apply it only as directed by your doctor. You should wash your hands before AND after applying it. Apply just enough to cover the affected area in a thin film, unless your doctor says otherwise. It's a potent medicine, so a little goes a long way. As with any cream, don't touch the tip of the container, to keep it free of germs. This medicine is for external use only, on the skin. So, take care not to get it into internal areas, like your eyes or mouth. You should use this medicine for the full course of therapy, even if the symptoms have improved, or the infection could return. You shouldn't use it longer than prescribed though, or side effects could happen. It's usually very well-tolerated. You should call your doctor if you notice any unusual changes to the area, or if it seems worse instead of better. You shouldn't tightly cover or bandage the treated skin, unless your doctor tells you to. This means if you are treating the groin area, you'll need to wear loose-fitting clothing. To reduce side effects, check with your doctor or pharmacist before using other medicines on your skin. For best results, use this medicine only as prescribed, and read the 'Patient Information' leaflet for more information.
