Let's take a minute to talk about your medication.

This is cefdinir suspension, and you should take it as directed. It's important to measure the dose exactly with a measuring spoon, or an oral dosing syringe. Also, it's important to take cefdinir doses at least 2 hours before or after taking antacids, iron supplements or vitamins with iron.

This antibiotic treats infections caused by bacteria, but it can't treat viral infections, like the common cold. People usually tolerate it well and start feeling better soon. But, finish the full course, or the infection could return and become hard to treat.

Some people may get an upset stomach, and taking it with meals should help. Diarrhea can occur, too, and your pharmacist can advise you how to lessen this. But, if diarrhea is severe, or lasts more than 2 days, let the doctor know right away, even if it happens weeks from now.

As with any medication, you should call your doctor right away if you notice any unusual changes to your body.

It's important to know you should discard this suspension after 10 days, but you can store it at room temperature during that time.

For best results, don't skip doses, and try to get plenty of rest.
