Let's take a minute to talk about your medication.

This is Carisoprodol, and it is important to take your dose as prescribed by your doctor. Taking it with food may help if you get an upset stomach.

Carisoprodol is a muscle relaxer which can decrease your muscle pain and spasms.

At first, some side effects can occur, like a mild headache. You may also feel drowsy, or dizzy, so don't do activities that require you to be alert, like driving, until you know how it affects you. This is normal and should go away. If these or other side effects become reasons you want to stop taking this medication, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

In rare cases, serious side effects can occur, so call your doctor right away if you notice unusual changes, like shortness of breath or muscle weakness. To reduce side effects and interactions, avoid alcohol and other medications that cause drowsiness.

Also, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist before taking any new medications, even those that don't require a prescription.

For best results, take carisoprodol as directed and contact your doctor if your symptoms do not improve within 2 to 3 weeks.
