Basaglar can cause low blood sugar. Symptoms include feeling shaky, irritable, lightheaded, or sweaty. Low blood sugar can also affect your concentration and reaction time. You should be aware of this before doing activities that require you to be alert, like driving. To help prevent low blood sugar, tell your doctor when you are sick or stressed. Also, do not skip meals, and do not over-exercise. As with any medicine, rare but more serious side effects can occur. With Basaglar, this includes severe allergic reactions. To help keep this medicine safe for you, your doctor will follow your condition closely and may order blood tests. Basaglar can interact with other medicines.
